Africa Legal Aid (AFLA) background information

AFLA is a Pan African NGO devoted to promoting and protecting individual and collective rights throughout Africa and to challenging the impunity of gross human rights violators. AFLA provides leadership and support to human rights and justice sectors in Africa. The tools AFLA uses to accomplish these goals include capacity-building training programs, research and analysis, media outreach, publications, a web site, a lecture series, networking and consultation with selected organizations and individuals. AFLA has close working relations with the International Criminal Court (ICC), the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), the office of the UN High Commission for Human Rights, the Common Wealth Secretariat, among others. AFLA has offices in The Hague, Accra, and has registered an office in South Africa. Through implementation of its multiple tasks and activities, AFLA has over the years created an extensive network of leading human rights and justice experts, judges, academics, human rights advocates, and policy makers most of whom have become loyal supporters of AFLA and its objectives.

All our products are exclusive; the Quarterlies and Books are published by Africa Legal Aid, the Canvas paintings and 2012 Human Rights Agenda are custom made for AFLA as well as AFLA endorsed human rights friendly African accessories which will be available in due course.
